The Tournament of Champions is the culmination of a season and is designed to feel like the final table of a deep stack, multi-table tournament event. The stacks are deeper, the rounds are longer, and the competition is steeper than any of our other events.
The ToC is a free-roll event, the pot being comprised of $2 from each individual entry throughout the season. Nine players will battle it out for the $1000+ pot.
Who’s Eligible to Play
The top eight players from the season’s Power Rankings will each earn a seat, and one lucky player will earn their entry by winning the Wildcard Tournament.
Since this group is still relatively small, we’ll decide in June how we want to handle eligibility. If we’re still averaging 12-14 players per tournament, it might make more sense to let anyone who has met the eight-tournament minimum play in the ToC. More info to come.
Starting Stacks and Payouts
ToC starting stacks will be based on the each player’s Power Points for the season. Each player will receive 1000 times their Power Points rounded to the nearest hundred. A player who ends the season with 23.475 points will start the tournament with 23,500 in chips. Any player with less than 10.000 points will start the tournament with 10,000 in chips.
ToC Payouts
| 1st Place | 50% |
| 2nd Place | 30% |
| 3rd Place | 20% |
Blinds / Levels
The ToC is designed to simulate the final table of a larger multi-table tournament. Blinds will start at Level 5 of our regular tournament blind structure. Will some players start the tournament short-stacked? Yes. Just like any final table, some players will arrive with a less than desirable stack. 🤷🏻♂️
Tournament Dates
The date of these tournaments will be solidified in the fall, but the tentative dates are:
Wildcard Tournament: TBD
Tournament of Champions: TBD
FAQ
What happens if I earn a spot, but I’m not available on the date of the tournament?
If you’re unable to attend, your seat will be given to the next highest ranking, eligible player (attended at least 8 regular season tournaments).
Can I sell/give my seat to another player?
Unfortunately, no. If you are unable to attend, you will forfeit your seat.
What happens if the tournament date needs to be moved?
We will do our best to keep the tournament date as scheduled. However, if unforeseen circumstances require rescheduling, participants will be notified of the new date at least four weeks in advance.
